I like the song as a whole, but generally what turned me off a bit was the hardstyle. I am absolutely in love with hardstyle, and I feel if a song is going to be influenced by it, the song should be an all or nothing deal, and I just didn't feel the kick alone failed to satisfied your aim of the genre. Otherwise, a good dance piece.

Kr1z responds:

It's a first attempt at hardstyle :)
Just trying out some new elements.

Thanks for the review !

To the person below me... I really don't see how that is a suggestion.

Well done on this piece, though it really falls under the category of Drum N Bass in my opinion.

FunkmasterCatking responds:

Well, I was thinking about it, but it's more like drums 'n funky synths, piano, a little brass, and some guitar thrown in there aswell... this probably belongs in misc, actually, lol.

Thanks for the review!

The sound is awesome, the quality is good, and you chose a great song to remix. The only reason I am giving this an 8 is because I love kicks and bass that level out with the song, and this is definitely lacking there. Other than that, I really liked it, good work.

Champius responds:

i see, well im glad you liked it overall, thanks a lot for taking the time to review its appreciated! : ]

I honestly don't understand how songs like these get on the top 30 when there are such higher quality pieces out there. There's nothing new and I call default FL sounds. You get a four for the repetitive yet catchy melody.

EqualizE responds:

I don't know how they get to the top 30.

There are no default sounds.

I know I'm not the best, there is no need to rmind me.

When I hear a dance piece, I really want to be able to dance to it. Your song doesn't provide anything to make me want to listen to it longer than the thirty seconds I did spend... listening to it.

Alright. First I need to point out that I am, among thousands of others, a huge fan of yours. Almost every one of your pieces inspires me to try as hard as I can to put out quality dance music, even if your pieces also demotivate me by how amazing they are.

Now for the actual review:
Good things: The intro turned out good as you said, and the actual melody of the song is very driving (happy hardcore!). You have amazing transitions as usual and I never found myself bored with the song. You find so many amazing ways to mix sounds that it drives me nuts.

Bad things: Near 1:53 or so, I almost swear there is a clap and hi-hat there (which there is), but it is hard to make them out. It is almost like they aren't there. I feel they could have been made louder in some way or just removed because they give nothing to the song. Another thing I did not like is that I felt the first melody was too mushy sounding. It is kind of hard to explain this without sounding like an idiot, but it felt like the notes had too much behind them to make out the actual tones of the melody.

Other than this stuff, I found the piece enjoyable. Thanks for this piece. :]

Envy responds:

heeeeeeeeeeeey thanks for the long review ^^
There is a clap at 1:53. I was trying to get rid of alot of highs in this song (cause there was an overabundance of them as you can imagine with the lead) and I ended up turning the hats waaaaaaaay down.

thanks again for the review!

The only reason I am giving you a 2 is because of the sound quality. Otherwise this isn't anything special, and definitely doesn't belong on the top 30. It is simple and provides no real inspiration. The transition was terrible and the tempo off.

It was beautiful. The instruments were all high quality and I swore I was listening to real people playing. What plugins and tools did you use to make this?

EvilHatX responds:

Hey,

Thanks a lot! :)

The drums are from Tonehammer.com (Epic Tom Ensemble 1 & 2) - amazing wet samples.
The rest is from Vienna Symphonic Library (quite expensive, but also high quality). I use the Epic Horns, Special Edition Strings and Special Edition Percussion.

It starts out with a simple melody, and I think the low strings come in pretty well, though they gave kind of a conflicting theme with the more happier melody. Other than that, it really relaxed me and I enjoyed listening to it. The balance and quality was good, and I listened to it a few times before writing this. Good job for just an hour.

Yodamanjaro responds:

Thanks man, and my specialty is trance, oddly enough. lol
